R&Company Chair
This chair was presented for sale at R&Company in NYC. It has since moved into the permanent collection of the Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh, PA. What makes this chair special (apart from its remarkable condition) is that it exhibits some of the early traits including a shorter, more boxy looking backrest with thin lumbar padding, and it has the sculpted spacer with rubber bushing. It’s one of the nicest examples of an all original pre–1956 chair that we’ve seen.
