One Collection
In 1999 the widow of Finn Juhl, Hanne Wilhelm Hansen began a cooperation with furniture makers, Hansen & Sørensen (later become known as One Collection). In 2000 they gained the production rights to Finn Juhl’s complete body of work. The early Hansen & Sørensen versions of the Chieftain chair were poorly executed, but thankfully the chair underwent a major overhaul in recent years and the quality appears to be excellent. Interestingly though, the chair frame is made in Japan and then shipped to Denmark to be upholstered. It appears that the production process is a mix of mechanised (CNC milling?) machinery and hand tooling. The arms of these newer chairs are more shapely and elegant than their predecssors.
