Illums Bolighus Chair

Have you ever wondered about the whereabouts of the Chieftain chairs that you see in period publications? Well, it was recently brought to our attention by @thomnem that the chair seen in the original Illums Bolighus catalogue has resurfaced some 60+ years later. Although the teak has faded over time, careful examination of the grain pattern does reveal unmistakable similarities. We don’t know precisely how this chair got to the USA, but there is no mistaking that it is the same chair. Included with the chair is a photo from the previous owners using the chair as it was intended (see below). We love a good provenance story, and this is one that is sure to make the new owner @dobrinka_salzman very happy. Congrats to Dobrinka for your good fortune in owning this piece of Danish Modern history.
